Written in plain English, with no overtly technical discussions, for technical and non-technical employees, managers, and business owners alike.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended   December 20, 2006
It seemed like I had read every business and technology book out there and they all basically said the same things... blah blah blah and a lot of technical language that didn't really HELP me. A friend recommended this book to me and I am so thankful. It talks about how to strategize with your technology decisions and really helped me understand how integral my technology is to my company's success. There is a great section about how to think about technology. It showed me how to start off by analyzing my business' needs and then gave me a practical way to approach matching those needs to technology. It also showed me how to develop projectized designs and documents to really organize the process. I don't feel like I am shuffling around in the dark anymore when I am trying to make business technology decisions. This book is a great tool.
The book is divided up into smaller sections so its easy to refer back to in the midst of a project. There are very useful sample diagrams of the various documents he suggests you use to organize and document your network. He talks about how to calculate ROI's and the realistic things you need to account for when making technology changes. It also has a great dictionary of terms in the back so I can now speak intelligently with the consultants I do have to contact. His writing style is very easy to read, there is virtually no 'tech' language. It is a very user friendly book, there is a section at the end of each chapter called "Applying Method to the Madness" which gives you prompts on how to apply what you've learned. The book is motivational and actually gets you excited about what you can accomplish. I think it has definitely made me a more valuable member of my business.
I found this book to be a really great tool to use and definitely recommend it highly.
