I have indoor only cats so I thought this would be a great product. Well, problem is, once the green shoots pop up my cat pulls the whole thing out and I find it on the floor. It turned into a game to see how long it would stay in the bowl before my cat pulled it back out. I tried other seeds but they just rotted. A good idea that just didn't work out for me and my active cats.

I purchased the aqua garden along with the platinum fountain and 2 refills for the garden. I am regretting my purchase of the aqua garden and refills. I have one cat that eats the grass, and it is not the lush little pod of kitty grass that grows, but a sparse few thin blades of inferior grass. It took a few days to start growing (no big deal), but then it really did not grow well after that. My cat does gnaw on it, but either he is eating faster than it grows, or it just is not growing well. I feel that the kind in dirt that you can buy at the pet store is a better fit (at least for my kitty). I am going to try starting it in a different container and then putting it into the fountain, so I will update if there is any improvement with that method.

Worked as advertised, but my cat hated it. Instead she eats my bamboo plant. But the price is good, so I don't mind buying it to find out.

After searching all local pet stores, I finally gave up and ordered the Drinkwell Aqua Garden through Amazon. The seller, Debnroo, processed the order and delivered within 2 weeks. The garden with seed pods snaps onto the Drinkwell fountain and grows in just a few days. In a week, the stalks were 2 inches tall. My cat loves the wheatgrass and it actually prompts her to drink more water while she's nibbling the greens and batting at the fountain. Not to mention, she's less apt to gnaw on my plants!
I highly recommend the Aqua Garden and Debnroo.
