Warm and cozy December 24, 2008 We have several of these pet bed warmers made by K & H. Nestled below a piece of faux sheepskin, this heater keeps kitty's bed warm and toasty, but not too hot. Our older indoor cat receives great comfort from the warmth while our barn cat can warm up whenever he desires.
Gosh, I think we bought our first K & H bed heater in 1998 - and we're still using it! Terrific, dependable product.
Our cat loves it December 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took him a few days to figure out that it will get warm if he sits on it, but now he hangs out on it all the time. We are going on vacation for a couple of weeks and wanted a way for the cat to keep warm without having to heat the whole drafty apartment just for him. We'll still leave the thermostat on, but we can set it lower than we otherwise would. We have a regular heating pad we have used on the lowest setting on a pillow inside the pillowcase, but that has an automatic shutoff and we wanted something that would stay on--and this bed warmer does one better by only heating up when the cat is actually on it, and otherwise just maintaining a slight warmth. (The people who say it isn't very warm didn't read the description very closely--there has to be pressure on it before it really heats up. Once the higher temperature has been activated, it's about as warm as the regular heating pad's lowest setting, just like our cat likes it.) I put the bed warmer inside the pillow case just like we did with the heating pad, but I safety pinned a towel around it first because a pillow case isn't as thick as the lining of the pet bed it's intended to be used with.
love it! November 30, 2008 This is great! My cats sleep on it constantly. I'm going back to buy 3 more.
My cat loves it November 20, 2008 This item is perfect for the kitty that needs a warm place to curl up. I leave it on 24/7, and my older cat is glued to it during the winter.
Only downside is that it does not come with a cover...a fleece lining would have been nice. I just use a towel to cover it and place it in a pet bed.
Great warm bed, while it lasts November 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My older cat just loves her heated bed. She has to have it because she has arthritis and is just so small and gets real cold without it. The heated bed itself is a lifesaver and works very well. But I've gone through two of these heated pet warmers. This last one only lasted about 12 months. I'm about to purchase my third heating pad. So, if it's important enough to you to keep your animal warm, it will cost you about $30 a year. Perhaps other people have had better luck...but a year to 18 months is all I've been able to get out of mine.
